Today's Program

Ms. Jen Budd
"Moot Court Competition, Vienna, Austria"

Tom and Jennifer Budd
Many of our best programs are given by one of our own. Today's speaker was Tom's daughter, Jen. Jen's presentation was well prepared and very interesting. She just returned from Vienna, Austria where she participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Team representing Rutgers-Camden at the competition. While there, Jen took in the sites. Her presentation centered on the two capitals of the Habsburg Empire, Vienna, Austria and Budapest, Hungry

HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF
The Woodbury Lunch and Breakfast Clubs have united for the purpose of raising funds to provide one ShelterBox for Haitian Earthquake Relief . A ShelterBox cost $1,000.00 delivered to the recipient.  This is an unfunded challenge that we’ve accepted. Pres Jim and the members present at Tuesday's lunch meeting agreed to solicit the membership to raise our $500.00 share. The membership recommended that a $25 per member will reach our $500.00 goal

President Jim's Weekly Message

Dear Woodbury Rotarians:
Job Well Done!! A special thank you to all members and their families for making the yard sale a great success.

It's always impressive to me how our club comes together and works well for a cause. For all who participated, thanks again for giving up your time on a weekend to make the event a success. Rotary Park looked fantastic and the weather could not have been better. Our next Social at the Barnesboro Inn will be held Wednesday, April 28th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. A sign-up sheet is available if you are interested.

For the Good of Rotary,

Pres. Jim

Rotary Factoid

In 1979, which was Rotary International's 75th anniversary, the RI Board discussed how they could launch an extraordinary mission to commemorate the milestone. The effort of three consecutive RI presidents prior to 1979 led to the creation of the 3-H program, which eventually grew into PolioPlus. The PolioPlus program was the 75th Anniversary Committee's theme, which was linked to the United Nations International Year of the Child, in 1979.

Enjoy Rotary! Get involved and experience the joy of "Making Dreams Real!"

Thought for the Week

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box. "There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be." "One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in someone's hand." "Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil." "Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make." "Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside." "And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write."
The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart
