HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF
The Woodbury Lunch and Breakfast Clubs have united for the purpose of raising funds to provide one ShelterBox for Haitian Earthquake Relief . A ShelterBox cost $1,000.00 delivered to the recipient.  This is an unfunded challenge that we’ve accepted. Pres Jim and the members present at Tuesday's lunch meeting agreed to solicit the membership to raise our $500.00 share. The membership recommended that a $25 per member will reach our $500.00 goal

Rotary Factoid

In the early 1960's, a committee of five Rotarians - one each from Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America, and the Southwest Pacific developed Interact, a service club modeled along the lines of a Rotary club, but for boys and girls ages 14-18 who were in secondary school.
Interact ( a contraction of the words international and action) usually meets in the high school and has a teacher and local Rotarian as advisors, and members often work together with their sponsoring Rotary club. The first Interact club was launched in 1962 at a high school in Melbourne, Florida.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION

HISTORY OF EGLINGTON CEMETERY - Mickleton, NJ Eglington Cemetery is the oldest (still in continuous operation) cemetery in the United States. Originally the land was set apart as a cemetery by John Eglington in his last will and testament in 1776.

When the original plot of ground was filled, an association was formed, and granted a charter by the NJ State Legislature in 1869 to purchase additional land. [This charter was given to David Gill, and was later run by his grandson, Thoburn Sickler]. In 1970 the Garden State Cemetery Society purchased the cemetery (they are the owners of the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Mount Royal). The original entrance was changed from Cohawkin Road to its present entrance on King's Highway near the original Eglington family burial ground.

WHAT'S NEW?

Change is coming to Rotary World

Beginning with the April 2010 issue, Rotary International is publishing, an interactive, online publication featuring practical information and links to help club and district officers meet the challenges they face every day. Current club presidents, district governors, and subscribers who have provided accurate e-mail addresses will receive Rotary Leader automatically, but any Rotarian may subscribe to this free publication at any time. Club presidents-elect, district governors-elect, club secretaries, and assistant governors are especially encouraged to subscribe.
