HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF
The Woodbury Lunch and Breakfast Clubs have united for the purpose of raising funds to provide one ShelterBox for Haitian Earthquake Relief . A ShelterBox cost $1,000.00 delivered to the recipient.  This is an unfunded challenge that we’ve accepted. Pres Jim and the members present at Tuesday's lunch meeting agreed to solicit the membership to raise our $500.00 share. The membership recommended that a $25 per member will reach our $500.00 goal

Presidents Message

Happy Ground Hog Day!! A special thank you to Chefs Gayle Henefer and Joy Livingston for representing our club at Dining with Rotary Chefs. Our club was well represented at the Rotary Foundation Event. Give Your Heart to Rotary Foundation Recognition & Awards Dinner will be held at Nicolosi's Catering on Saturday, February 13th from 6:30 - 10:30 PM. Tickets are $40 per person, which also includes Music, Dancing and a cash bar. Please ask Don Smith on how you can get involved in supporting The President's Annual Project to help the
Greater Woodbury Food Pantry. Our club has had a great year attracting new members. Let's continue this effort by keeping our eyes open for quality people who would benefit from being involved in our club.

For the Good of Rotary, Pres. Jim

Enjoy Rotary! Get involved and experience the joy of "Making Dreams Real!"

Rotary Factoid

Rotary has repeatedly tweaked its definition of itself, with the last significant change coming in 1951. It was then decided that Rotary really had but a single Object: "To encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise." The credo goes on to describe four areas in which Rotarians accomplish the Object: First, the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service, Second, high ethical standards in business and professions; Third, the application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life; Fourth, the advancement of international understanding goodwill, and peace through a world of fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Business Note of the Day
Tax Deductions - Medically Necessary Massages
Since this deduction was originally written into the tax code in 1962, accountants and tax lawyers have made sure their clients are keeping all their doctor's notes. The rule states that anything that your doctor prescribes as "medically necessary" can be deducted from your taxes. That means that if your doctor tells you to get therapeutic massages you can keep the receipts and knock that expense off as deductible. The same goes for aqua therapy (backyard pool installation and maintenance anyone?) and restrictive diets (make that call to Jenny Craig). However be aware that the IRS combs through medical deductions very carefully so don't try to get creative or it could end up costing you much, much more. www.forbes.com
